This month is burglary prevention month for Cambridgeshire Constabulary and they have lots of things going on to remind people to stay safe in their homes.
As the weather starts to warm up, it’s tempting to leave a window open when you pop to the shops or leave the door unlocked when you sit in the back garden, but it’s exactly when an opportunist thief could strike.
The police, and other organisations have some great hints and tips on their websites to help keep you safe. This year the police have launched an interactive house on their website, which means you can go into it and look around to find out where the biggest risks are in your home and what you can do to keep yourself or a friend or neighbour safe.
If you’re keeping an eye on a relative or neighbour you can download the home security survey here: http://www.cambs.police.uk/GetCloser/Burglary.asp to review the current security arrangements.
And don’t forget, the Bobby Scheme can help too. For just a donation of £25 a Bobby advisor will come and fit some key security devices to add peace of mind. For more information about our service go to: www.thebobbyscheme.org
