Summer is a fantastic time of the year, more so this year as my son got married to his beautiful, lovely fiancé! But it is also the holiday season, and Steve was away for three weeks which meant that Jeff had to cover the whole county by himself!
In total, 45 homes were visited, 21 of these were victims of crime. Location – 8 burglary victims lived in Peterborough. 11 victims of domestic abuse were also visited and their homes made more secure.
Jeff attended the St Ives Rotary Club meeting and gave a talk about the scheme. Whiting and Partners, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, held a coffee morning at their Ramsey office on August 4th on behalf of our charity. They raised a fantastic £500! We are very grateful for all the staff who gave their support.
The manager of the Bedfordshire Bobby Scheme, Geoff Comb, came to visit us on the 12th and we were able to learn much more about each other’s work and exchange ideas and good practice.
We were extremely delighted to receive a grant of £10,000 from The Clothworkers’ Foundation to help us purchase security devices which will enable us to support and help more victims of domestic abuse. The Clothworkers’ Foundation was set up by The Clothworkers’ Company in 1977 and aims to improve the lives of people and communities, particularly those facing disadvantage. Their support is very much appreciated.
