Once again we had a very successful and enjoyable day St Ives Golf Club for our third charity golf day. We raised an amazing £1556.81 for the charity.
The weather was kind to us and the thunderstorms that were forecast to come on Friday kept away [phew!]. We had 11 teams, each with 4 players, taking part – all teeing off with a shot gun start at 9.00am, after a bacon breakfast. The course was in excellent condition but it was challenging! After 4/5 hours we had all finished and the 19th was a very welcome sight!
The lunch was excellent and we were looked after so well by the staff. After lunch, two of our Trustees – Judy Pearson and Victor Lucas, the High Sheriff, presented the raffle, auction and prizes.
I would like to thank;
– St Ives Golf Club for making us so welcome once again, for being so hospitable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, from the moment we arrived when coffee was laid on; when we were out on the course – they came out on their buggy with refreshments and over lunch we were waited on really well!
– all the golfers who took part – without their support the event would not have taken place and we would not have raised any funds for the charity!
– all those who donated raffle and auction prizes
