We had 93 referrals this month. Steve and Jeff have been busy, they have visited and secured the homes of 47 residents, of these 29 were older victims of crime. We also visited and secured the homes of 23 victims of domestic abuse.
Jeff gave talks to two Circle [ Roddons Housing] sheltered housing groups, the All Saints Coffee morning group in Walsoken, and attended the Senior Citizens Forum at Peterborough Town Hall. Steve gave talks to Linton Camsight group, the Histon & Impington Royal British Legion and the Talbot House Coffee afternoon group in Cherry Hinton.
We held our quarterly Trustee meeting. I met with Chris Parker from the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service to discuss our partnership agreement to carry out Home Fire Safety checks at every visit we do. The pilot project finished at the beginning of July but I am pleased to say that both parties have agreed to continue for another year.
On June 12th we held our third golf charity day at St Ives golf club. We had 11 teams of four players take part. Once again the weather was really kind to us and it stayed dry, despite a forecast of rain and thunderstorms early on in the week! Following the golf, everyone enjoyed lunch and the presentation of prizes. The Bobby Dazzlers were the team winners – as I was in this team I was amazed but delighted!! The day raised a magnificent £1558 for the Bobby scheme.
