Operation Hunter

We would like to support the Cambridgeshire Police new campaign Operation Hunter which is prioritising burglary with officers combining prevention work with catching and putting offenders before the courts.

In the three months from August to October last year there were 569 dwelling burglaries across the county, compared to 628 during the following three months of November to January, a rise of more than 10%.

We have had referred to our charity many victims of burglary who are over 60 years of age. In September we had 65, in October 61 and in November 60.  We have visited every one of these victims and helped secure their homes to make them feel safer and give that much needed peace of mind.  We have also visited people who feel at risk of becoming a victim.

Crime prevention advice is available on the police website http://www.cambs.police.co.uk/GetCloser/Burglary.asp

If you are 65 years or over, feel at risk of becoming a victim, and would like a visit from one of our security advisors, Steve or Jeff,  please do ring us on 01480 413311.  We would be happy to help.
