Like many other charities, we are constantly applying for funds to enable the service to continue its valuable work. One main problem is that we are all competing for a smaller and smaller pot of money and it’s hard to know where to go to apply.
We were therefore very excited to hear about a fundraising seminar that was being run by the Foundation for Social Improvement [ FSI] here in Peterborough. The course was being supported by the Cabinet Office Small Charities Fundraising Training Programme. And even better, it would only cost us £10 per person to attend ! So Susan and I signed up to a day’s session on “Developing Corporate Relationships” and one on “Trusts and Foundations”. We both found the courses extremely helpful, informative and beneficial and came away with quite a few ideas how we could improve our fundraising strategy.
Because we are such a small charity and we don’t have a dedicated, experienced fundraiser it is quite difficult to juggle workloads and spend time researching and putting together successful application bids. It would really make a difference if we could find someone who knows what they are doing and could help us – with research, completing applications, give us a few ideas etc. If you would like to help us, have a few spare hours and would be happy to volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Please do contact us on 01480 413311 and we can tell you what an amazing charity the Bobby Scheme is and why it needs supporting!
