I hope everyone enjoyed the lovely warm weather we had over the last weekend. I know I did, and spent most of the time outside – playing golf, sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine, walking to our local woods to see the carpets of bluebells and taking my son’s dog for a long walk!
And one thing I remembered to do was to lock all the doors and windows – even when I was sitting in the back garden. Now the warmer weather and lighter evenings are with us more people are understandably enjoying time in their gardens – but, very often people forget to lock their front doors and windows are left open. It is an ideal time for the opportunist burglar who can enter a house in a few seconds and take a handbag or wallet off the kitchen table, a laptop lying about in the lounge or something else equally valuable.
We have visited a few victims recently where thieves have entered an unlocked house and taken property. Please don’t give these people the chance to steal from you! Lock your doors and windows even if you are only going outside for a few minutes – it doesn’t take that long to enter a property and steal precious belongings.
