Charity Conference

Last week, Susan and I attended a charity conference organised by Rawlinsons, Chartered Accountants, at the Kingsgate Conference Centre in Peterborough.

As well as being updated about the Charity Commission we attended a number of workshops during the day – including data protection, how to make charities more enterprising, digital promotion, budgeting, why other charities weren’t a threat, generational giving, 15 questions Trustees should ask.  We came away with some very useful nuggets of information but also questions we need to ask ourselves in order to move forward, improve our way of working and develop new ideas.

Being such a small charity we don’t have the funds to attend conferences that charge for attending – but Rawlinsons put this one on every year for FREE!!  It’s an excellent event – so well organised and the topics are all very interesting and useful to charities such as ours.  Thank you to all the staff at Rawlinsons for helping us help ourselves!
